Another outstanding monument of architecture in baroque style is Carskiy – or another name – Mariinskiy Palace. Its project was created by I.F.Michurin according to the measurements of the palace in the village Perovo near Moscow and it was built according to the project of B.F.Rastrelli. The similarity between the palaces is in general scheme of buildings, the character of architecture, the principle of spreading of the buildings and also the configuration and planning of wings. The palace genuinely integrates into the permanent park, which was included into the architectural ensemble. Wings, main entrance and part of the park were built symmetrically to the main building – two –stored palace.
The building of the palace complex, which started in 1752, was mostly finished in 1755, but painting and decorating lasted up to 60th. In 1819 the fire has destroyed the second floor of the palace. The building was restored according to the project of architect K.Y.Maevskiy in 1870, who changed its primary inner planning. On the side of the park in the central part of the palace was built a wing with balconies and stares. During the restoration works in 1945-1949(architect P.F.Aleshin) partial replanning of the building took place, but the facades were preserved in accordance with the project of K.Y.Maevskiy.
