 The great influence on development of the architecture of Kiev of XVIII century had buildings created according to the projects of outstanding architect B.F.Rastrelli. In 1747- 1767 on the place of former Starokievskoy fortress (Andreevskiy hill) was built one of his best creations – Andreevskaya Church. I.F.Michurin was the engineer and organizer of the works during the building. The main work from the rock was done by the craftsmen of Kiev –Pechersk Lavra. Graceful, organically integrating into picturesque silhouette of Kiev hills building raises high above the Dnepr level over 87, 3 m. It has unusual for baroque style combination of different architectural methods and details and original volumetric space composition.
